Comprehensive confidential advice is available during normal surgery times. Prescriptions for oral contraceptives (the pill) can be given in surgery time but forms of long acting reversible contraception, for example implants are done by special appointments only.

Cervical Smear Tests

These tests are carried out by the practice nurse. Please inform the receptionist whilst making your appointment that you will be requiring a smear test. We follow the local policy of recommending a repeat smear test every three years, unless the cytologist recommends repeating the smear more often, you will receive an invitation by letter.


Regular clinics are held each week for taking blood samples; by Lorraine Goode Monday  - Thursday mornings.

Antenatal Care

This is provided at the practice by the practice appointed midwife Paula Edwards. Clinics are heldon Thursday mornings.

Baby Check

We can offer 24 hour baby checks for new born babies to arrange you will need to call the surgery. A further check will be offered 6-10 weeks after birth, the practice will contact you to arrange this appointment.

Health Check for Patients over the Age of 40

As part of a programme launched by the Government; we invite all patients aged over 40 for a health check. This will involve blood pressure, weight, cholesterol checks and lifestyle advice.

Flu and Pneumococcal Immunisations

Available for all patients managing a chronic disease, for example Diabetes, and those aged 65 years and over. The flu season runs from September to February each year. We also offer Shingles to patients aged 70 and over – if you are eligible the practice will contact you during flu season.

Ear Syringing

Treatment is offered by appointment only after a referral from your GP.
